Do not be dismayed by the brokenness in the world.
All things break, and all things can be mended.
Not with time, as they say, but with intention.
So go.
Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally.
The broken world waits in darkness for the light that is you. L.R. Knost
Nancy lived that love with family, friends, colleagues, students--everyone she touched. She was an inspiration to many and will be missed but not forgotten.

In the ten years that I knew Nancy, she gradually became more and more of an influence on me. Working on Reality Check with her at Los Gatos High School, I saw the bottomless reservoir of care and respect she had for students, the integrity she modeled for all of them over and over, her willingness to own her opinions, mistakes, and values. I watched her, year after year after year, show such commitment and passion to this publication, and it was contagious. Her ability to balance advocacy and restraint is one I am still trying to learn and emulate. Her willingness to follow her passion by any means necessary was inspiring. Her love for the students, and her frankly amazing capacity to remember countless details and stories, kept Reality Check together for the 20 years that she ran it. What a profound publication she founded! It was truly a humble honor to walk beside her on our journey while we shared that path together. I am a better person for having known her, and I believe that every student who worked on Reality Check and other LGHS Peer-to-Peer programs are too. I miss her deeply, and hope her family knows how well she was loved by so many.

I am sorry to read of the passing of your loved one, Nancy. She will be missed. Your family has loss someone very near and dear to your hearts. Be patient with yourself. Please try to take one day at a time. Know that the pangs of grief do not last forever. Over time it will lessen and eventually subside. However, your love and memories for her will keep you strong and sustain you. May "the God of all comfort," (2Cor.1:3,4) be with your family as you deal with your loved one's loss. May each passing day get a little easier as life returns ton normal.
