Dear Della,
I am so sorry to hear of Lui's death - I always called him Lui too. What a shock, following the news of Ersilia's death. Nancy wrote me here in Nigeria about them both but I only checked my personal email on March 24.
I will always remember Lui as my great Samoan friend - we bonded the first time we met one another since I was the only person in Santa Cruz who had actually ever been in Samoa! It will not be the same without our greeting, to one another of "Talofa!" and the response, "Talofa lava!" Now I should say say Good-bye but I never learned the word. That's OK - every now and then I will remember to say "Talofa!" to Lui through you.
Please know that I am thinking lovingly of you and send everyone in the family my love as well.
You and Nancy can comfort one another. She told me how you cared for Ersilia. No doubt the lot of you - all the Gallis and Radicchis - for so many reasons including the loving support for Tino and Ersilia - will go to Heaven for your strong devotion to family and your big hearts for hangers-on like Mark and me.
Much love to you and hope to see you all soon, Sharon

I am proud to have been your student and fifteenth Black Belt. You are my teacher and my friend. I cherish the time that I spent with you and your family. Through you I was able to train with some of the true legends of our martial arts.
The best I ever saw could not hold a candle to you as a teacher and a martial artist. Those of us fortunate enough to be your students will always remember you as Papa Tino.
Knowing you, is truly a once in a lifetime experience. I will always consider you my Papa Tino. God Bless

Uncle Tino,
I remember those rare days when you took over the studio in Westminster and training went to a whole different level.
A kind and gentle giant of a man, you spoke softly with authority and reminded us always why we were learning the art and what it's purpose was. Never forgot those lessons. Rest in Peace, Uncle.

I will never forget the old Diamond Bar days. Earning a Black Belt was awesome for me.
You taught us much more than just martial arts, and it took years for some of it to sink in. Thank you for being much more than just my teacher. You called me the most unsuspecting student you ever taught, because I was a nerd, and wore glasses. No one is laughing now, I am a nerd that can kick butt, thanks to you my friend.

I once heard... "Memories is the one Garden of Eden that we will never be Cast Out of." I will always remember as a boy growing up in OC one of my first Lima-Lama classes with unlce Tino, a gentle giant of a man patiently teaching me with laughter. I wondered to myself why I heard others seemingly feared Uncle Tino? Then one day he demostraighted techniques on a class full of older black belt belt students and I witnessed how fast, swift, fluent and painful his combination where and thought to myself, that's why? Uncle shared a personal moment with me growing up of the importance of God, family/friends and the need of self defense. Today I better understand Uncle Tino's teachings and Lima Lama has been a great part of my life. God is first, family is close behind and Lima-Lama is the vehicle of confidence I have used even today to progress in my securities of confidence for my life, my family and my acting career. Thank You Uncle Tino, know many voices echo my words and feelings. the profound message taught is always BELIEVE as everything depends on the LORD, but ACT if everything depend on US. love & respect, Sid Liufau
PS. Uncle I know your sense of humor an have to ad now were even, because I've had to listen to Kaipo's sense of humor? (lol) I love him & the rest of the family!

I met Grand Master Tino and his son Rudy in a martial arts seminar in 98 in Ensenada, Baja California and I had the good fortune to have my picture taken with him in Manuel Mendez' tounament the next day, I was so nervous, but he hugged me like a father and I instantly relaxed.
Lima Lama has been a part of my life for more than 15 years and I still can't believe Mr. Tuiolosega's parting. It´s a terrible loss for the martial arts world. But his legacy will remain, Mr. Tuiolosega will be immortal as his teachings are known around the world and us instructors won't ever let it die.
Please recieve a warm hug from me and my family. You ahve a home here in Tijuana.
